The Veronica's are self-confessed emo girls at heart, they grew their music careers during the golden era of pop-punk and emo that was the early 2000s.

The duo was formed in 2004 by identical twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso and since then, they have served wildly popular looks.

The Veronica's rang in the New Year by sharing a post of themselves in similarly cut dresses and matching shoes.

The Instagram post was accompanied by the caption: "We started The Veronicas 18 years ago in our bedrooms to write our stories, for a safe space in music to be weird, loud, queer, and free and what we did was find a community of souls who all were doing the same.

We've grown up together – and this space we've all created is beyond our wildest dreams. WE CANT WAIT TO CELEBRATE with you all this year and 4ever."

During a performance at LA Pride, the sisters both wore latex halter neck tops with the same belts and harnesses.

This was a special moment for them, telling LA Pride: "The queer community here really nurtured us when we came here for the first time 15 years ago. The people here – especially within the community – they empower us so much."

Enter the topless glitter look that stole the show at the 2016 ARIAs, with the sisters explaining to Instagram it took the best of the best to achieve this famous look.

"We are so lucky to work with the incredible [team]. This team had 20 mins to get all the glitter off our bodies. They were incredible," Jessica said.

The sisters paired their look with latex pants and matching red lips.

Their on-stage outfit choice sent social media into a frenzy.

Jessica also revealed that prosthetics were used to complete the look.

"We were actually using special prosthetics on their breasts which are made by a company in New Zealand, so they were custom made for them,' she said.

"They're about the palm of your hand and they're made of latex."
