Supermodel Kristen McMenamy's 'power move' after falling at Fashion Week

Supermodel Kristen McMenamy has fallen while walking for Valentino at Paris Fashion Week.

McMenamy, 58, was modelling a fitted gown with sky-high heels when she began to wobble before falling dramatically to the runway floor.

Guests tried to come to her aid but McMenamy took the incident in her stride, throwing off her heels before continuing. Despite having taken off the heels McMenamy still appears to struggle to walk, prompting speculation as to the cause of the incident.

The supermodel addressed the incident in a post on Instagram, sharing a photo of a fitting ahead of the show along with the cheeky caption: "Before the fall."

Video of the incident has been watched millions of times around the world with many speculating as to the cause of the fall.

"I don't understand how literal VALENTINO still makes models walk in shoes that are too small???" one person tweeted.

"It's the fit of the dress. When it's too tight they can't walk in heels much less in the dress. Valentino do better," another said.

"This video makes me never want to buy Valentino shoes," one commented.

The fashion designer addressed the incident in a statement released to the New York Post.

"Maison Valentino cares about the safety and wellbeing of the talented men and women hired to walk in the runway shows. Models were able to practice in the shoes and offered alternate shoe choices to ensure their comfort for the show."

This isn't the first time McMenamy has suffered a fall during during a fashion show.

Less than a year ago the supermodel was walking for Jean Paul Gaultier in their Fall 2022 Couture Fashion Week show in Paris in July when she tripped over.

Again she handled the incident like a professional, laughing it off and continuing with the show.

McMenamy returned to modelling in 2004 following a successful career earlier in life, gaining a legion of new fans when stopped dying her hair and let it go grey.
