Paris Jackson signs on to become a model

The 18-year-old daughter of deceased pop star Michael Jackson and nurse Debbie Rowe has signed with Gigi Hadid’s agency IMG to conquer the world of fashion.
"Thank you @imgmodels i feel very lucky and blessed," Paris wrote on Instagram.

The president of IMG Models, Ivan Bart, posted the news to his Instagram account with the caption, "One singular sensation!! Welcome Ms Jackson!"

Paris joins IMG model army of celebrity offspring, including Hailey Baldwin, Christie Brinkley’s daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook who appeared on the Dolce & Gabbana runway in Milan and Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber.

Don’t expect the teenager to be camera shy on her first booking with Paris having already appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone and super stylist Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book.

It’s a positive step for Paris who struggled with self-esteem issues in her early teens and made three suicide attempts.

"It was just self-hatred. Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn't do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore."

As well as modelling, Paris will venture into acting with an appearance in the drama Star created by Lee Daniels, the man behind Empire. Star focuses on a girl group and Paris will play social media guru Rachel Wells.

Adding singer to the model/actress slashie will have to wait with Paris telling CR that music is currently a private pastime. 
"I write music for myself,” Paris said in CR. "There are so many amazing artists in my family. If I were to do it as a career, it would change how I feel about music and I don't want that to happen."

Recently Paris has been supporting her mother Debbie Rowe who is battling breast cancer, which prompted a reunion after a period of estrangement.
Debbie Rowe married Michael Jackson in 1996 following his divorce from Lisa Marie Presley. The couple also had a boy, Michael Joseph ‘Prince Jackson Jr.
