Cher at Met Gala 1974: Romantic and Glamorous Hollywood Design
For obvious reasons, Cher's look at the 1974 Met Gala was dubbed "The Naked Dress".
It was created by Bob Mackie from souffle, a French fabric that was outlawed in the US at the time. The fabric was then sprayed down so it stuck to the singer's body.
The dress caused a stir, and when she later wore it on the cover of TIME magazine, the issue was banned in several US cities.
