Dua Lipa
Moulin Rouge, meet the Met Gala - at least, that's what Dua Lipa's lingerie-inspired look had everyone thinking.
She arrived with a huge feather boa draped over her shoulder, which she dropped to reveal the lacey ensemble that had onlookers gasping.
The custom Marc Jacobs look drew inspiration from lingerie and boudoir style, complete with a tight corset and sheer black wrap skirt.
She accessorised with a huge diamond necklace and sheer opera gloves.
Elle Fanning
Elle Fanning led the sheer trend at the 2024 Met Gala with an icy take on the style in this transparent off-the shoulder gown by Balmain, which appeared both wet and frozen at the same time.
She paired this rare, fresh take on the 'naked dress' with Cartier jewels and silver strappy heels.
The dress featured a long tulle train that flowed elegantly behind Fanning as she ascended the Met stairs.
Her look was exactly what fans were hoping for from 'The Garden of Time' dress code, which was based on the art museum's new exhibition 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion'.
Phoebe Dynevor
Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor looked like something out of a romance novel in this sheer pink number, which featured careful lace appliques over her breasts and pelvis.
"It's like something out of a fairytale," Dynevor, 29, said of the custom Victoria Beckham ensemble.
It's the first time the brand has sent such an elaborate outfit out on the Met Gala red carpet.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian shimmered in this artisanal Maison Margiela by John Galliano corset and floral skirt, which she topped off with a soft knitted cardigan.
According to a press release, the outfit was "composed of a pale grey thistle-washed boiled cashmere cardigan, a couture corset rewoven from antique silver brocade and a skirt in tooled silver metal evoking lace, flowers, leaves and sprigs interlinked with silver chain and floral motifs cut from mirror fragments, as well as crystal pendants, pearls and set like a piece from high-jewellery."
Kendall Jenner
Kim's sister Kendall Jenner was also all about the sheer trend, donning this black and bronze Givenchy by Alexander McQueen gown from 1999.
She's the first person to ever wear the archival haute couture piece, which was never sent down the runway and has only ever lived on mannequins.
"It's been sleeping for the last 25 years. It's literally a 'sleeping beauty,'" Jenner told Vogue of the sheer gown with beaded tassles on the red carpet.
"It's such a special moment. I feel extremely honored that they're allowing me to wear it."

Rita Ora
Rita Ora's Tom Ford gown was made entirely of strands of beads that cascaded over a sheer bodysuit.
Not only was it a show-stopping number, parts of is are actually older than anybody at the Met Gala - "anyone on the planet", according to Ora.
