Victoria Beckham was so “surprised” Meghan Markle wore her clothes

With her penchant for sleek, streamlined attire, Meghan Markle is a shoo-in for the sophisticated aesthetic associated with Victoria Beckham’s namesake label.

So, when the Duchess of Sussex appeared on Christmas Day in a fitted navy coat and wool-blend midi dress of Beckham’s design, there was one person whose Christmases had finally come at once.

"It was such a lovely surprise to wake up to on Christmas morning," Beckham said during an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan.

"I think she’s such a beautiful, strong and wonderful woman – so it was a huge honour."

The pair happen to be friends, with the designer and her husband, footballer David Beckham, attending Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in May.

But the appearance of the stylish royal in Mrs Beckham’s form-fitting attire may have come as a shock to some.

In 2017, Meghan revealed to UK’s Glamour that although she is a fan of the former Spice Girl’s dresses, she "doesn’t have the torso" to wear them.

"Even though things looks amazing on the hanger, it doesn’t mean they’re going to look amazing on me," she told the magazine.

"I love Victoria Beckham dresses, but I don’t have the long torso to support that silhouette. "

The Duchess of Sussex isn’t the only royal who has slipped into a Victoria Beckham design. Kate Middleton has sported numerous items from the luxury brand over the years.
