Jessica Chastain doesn’t look like this anymore

Jessica Chastain has ditched her trademark Hollywood glam look in favour of a new, edgier aesthetic.

The actress debuted her new look on Instagram overnight, showing off her freshly layered bob to her 1.8 million Instagram fans, captioning the image: "summer cut."

The new tousled hairstyle is courtesy of her long-time hairstylist Renato Campora, who also works with other A-listers such as Selena Gomez, Margot Robbie, Mila Kunis and Jessica Alba.

The Los Angeles-based stylist also posted the stunning photo of the Molly’s Game star to his social media account.

"Looking stunning #jessicachastain with layered #bobhaircut by me," Campora wrote on Instagram.

The 41 year-old may be proud of her fiery red hair now, but that wasn’t always the case.

Chastain told Refinery 29 recently that as a youngster all she wanted was to have hair the same colour as everyone else.

"As a child, I didn't want to be different, I wanted to look the same as everyone else because I didn't want to be singled out," she recalled. "I was ridiculed for having red hair; for having freckles. But whatever you are ridiculed about that makes you different is what you'll celebrate in the future. If I wanted to dye my hair, I could, but I realised that's who I am, and my differences [make me] special."

Chastain is one of many celebrities who have cut all their hair off for the (American) summer, making the the blunt bob haircut the official look of the season.
