How to master the Dior Cruise 2017 beauty look

Dior Cruise 2017 show may have taken place in England's Blenheim Palace but no meek English roses were to be found on this runway.

Instead, the beauty look was equal parts eccentricity and elegance – the kind of look that won’t fade into the opulent wallpaper of a historical estate.

"This extreme look was chosen to contrast with the Baroque beauty of the décor," explained Dior’s creative director for make-up, Peter Philips.

Eyes were the focus (and fitting inspiration for those who don't have the steadiest of hands).

"I used the deep bronze shade," said Philips, "which I applied as a colour-block in a single sweep over the entire eyelid, from the lash root to the eyebrows."  Note: the look was completely mascara-free.

The face was subtly contoured and flushed with a hint illuminator (the Dior girl is no Kim K), while lips were a gentle shade of peach.

Hair was gelled back at the front and left to fall naturally at the back.
