Cara Delevingne saves the world

Eliza Cracknell

Cara Delevingne has officially achieved “actress” status, nabbing a leading role in a sci-fi film by Luc Besson (who also helped Milla Jovovich make the transition to the big screen by casting her in 1997’s The Fifth Element).

Besson announced he's working on the movie adaptation ofValerian, a French comic book series, and that Delevingne will play the character of Laureline alongside Dane DeHanan (Valerian). In true sci-fi form, the two protagonists embark on a mission through time and space in order to save earth.

This is just another string in Delevingne’s acting bow. The supermodel landed a lead role in teen drama Paper Towns in which, judging from the video above, she plays a manic pixie dream girl acting out every wronged high-schooler's revenge fantasy.

That came off the back of a smaller bit in The Face of an Angel (below), which was based loosely on the Amanda Knox trial. With Delevingne also taking a turn in Suicide Squad, the much-hyped DC Comics film due out this year, you can expect to see a lot more of those famous brows.
