Charlotte Thieme

Bona fide beauty aficionados know the sizeable dent our favourite products tend to make on our wallets.

But as it turns out, saving on select items is a matter of shopping smarter, not harder.

A number of big-name beauty brands and companies alike are securing customer loyalty through their various rewards programs – and some can result in considerably less stress on beauty addicts' bank accounts.

If you've ever wondered what the various beauty loyalty programs involve, look no further. Getty

So after painstakingly combing the number-one authority on beauty-related advice – Reddit – I uncovered an extensive selection of rewards programs collectively endorsed by beauty fans.

Mecca Beauty Loop

The one it seems the entire country is talking about right now.

Widely regarded as the gold standard for loyalty programs, MECCA's Beauty Loop is beloved for a reason. The program offers four tiers; level one to level four. Members receive exclusive samples, birthday gifts, and invitations to events based on their tier.

One Reddit user shared a glimpse into what new Beauty Loop members can expect upon joining the program, with a definitively stacked assortment included in the level one tier 'Beauty Loop Box'.

The program's website also lists a number of additional perks, from complimentary services, to masterclasses with international brand founders, members-only events and first access to shop the latest launches before other customers.

But despite the many proven perks on offer through Beauty Loop, MECCA has recently faced a slew of complaints from disgruntled members following a less-than-impressive offering for their latest gift.

To receive this gift, Beauty Loop loyalists were required to maintain a high level of spending throughout 2025, and redeem all four Beauty Loop boxes on offer to claim an "extra beauty treat" in 2026.

But customers who diligently collected all four Beauty Loop Boxes on offer last year were "rewarded" with what was – to many's disappointment – revealed to be nothing more than an empty MECCA-branded tote bag.

The "beauty treat" in question turned out to be an empty MECCA tote bag, which members had previously speculated would be filled with products. MECCA

In a statement posted to MECCA's 'Chit Chat' Facebook Group, the company acknowledged Beauty Loop Members' disappointment over the lacklustre gift.

"Our MECCA Summer Tote has proven to be a bit of a mixed bag – some of you are loving it, while others have let us know we missed the mark," the statement read.

"Our intention was to create something fun, summery and useful, but we acknowledge that this gift hasn't landed for many of you and for that we're truly sorry."

Many customers in the comments section of the post were not having it, coming out in spades to voice their dissatisfaction with MECCA's response.

One commenter sought to debunk claims the tote bag had been "free" and that fans were simply being ungrateful.

"To all those saying it's a free gift and why complain- it's absolutely not. They used the promotion of the bonus "beauty treat" so that customers would spend money to get all the beauty boxes," the Beauty Looper revealed.

One lawyer in the comments went as far as citing Australian Consumer Law, claiming MECCA's offering was "an insult" to fans.

"How on earth did the tote pass through checks to be a 'gift'? It's a clear breach of the ACL," they said.

"It should also have been clear this would be an insult as a 'reward' for collecting the 4 beauty loop boxes."

MECCA has said it will seek to "make it up" to Beauty Loop members in 2026.

Adore Society

Adore Society boast three levels of benefits for Adore Society members. Adore Beauty

Adore Beauty's loyalty program is widely considered one of the best on offer. Adore Society offers a free-to-sign-up, tiered rewards program for loyal customers.

The more money spent through Adore, the more 'members points' are accrued to redeem on product discounts. Customers then advance through the various tiers and gain access to rewards of higher value while doing so.

The three tiers in question are based on customers' yearly spending, with the highest tier requiring an eye-watering $1,500 yearly spend.

While the perks on offer undoubtedly increase in value the more you spend, one titbit flagged by consumers to keep in mind is that birthday rewards can now only be used on full-price items, where previously they were available across the brand's entire range.

Just a few of the benefits on offer through various tiers include free express delivery on certain orders, Birthday and anniversary rewards, early access to new products and invitations to money-can't-buy events and experiences.

And if that wasn't enough to twist potential members' arms, Adore Society also offers a quarterly gift for members, which they can select from a range of products.

A few of the products on offer through Adore society include: Alpha-H, Aspect Skincare, Cosmedix, Dermalogica, The Ordinary and Paula's Choice.

Priceline Sister Club

Sydney, Australia - October 17, 2017: Priceline is an Australian health and beauty retailer with more than 300 stores, including this store on Oxford Street in Sydney CBD.

The Priceline Pharmacy Sister Club, according to reviews, is a decidedly mixed bag.

While some members find it excellent for regular shoppers due to easily-accrued $5 vouchers and tiered benefits (Diamond, Pink Diamond) in addition to birthday gifts and early sales, others feel points accumulate too slowly.

Another observation was that personalised emails regarding gifts were often sent to spam, and easily missed.

But if you tend to make a habit of shopping for your hair, hygiene and beauty products at Priceline, it's easy to passively accrue points that result in gifts later on.

Additionally, Sister Club often offers promotions where you receive a wide selection of products upon spending a certain amount.

One Redditor posted an example of the freebies on offer through Priceline Sister Club, having spent $79 to receive a package worth $200. Reddit

One Reddit user revealed they received a birthday gift including two full-sized products (of which she had multiple options to choose from) as a Pink Diamond tier member, in addition to yet another full-sized Christmas gift.

And according to the user, the perks did not stop there.

"Almost every time I shop there I have earnt another $5 voucher, and you get one for your birthday also," they said.

"They sell a wide range of brands, ALWAYS have sales, and quite often have gift with purchase promos exclusive to certain brands."

Multiple times a year, Sister Club members will be invited to redeem a complimentary goody bag filled with a selection of full-sized products and samples of Priceline's latest and greatest, plus plenty of our must-have staples.

Brands on offer through Priceline Sister Club include: La Roche-Posay, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Sukin, A'kin and Natio.

Myer One

Myer One's reviews have been decidedly mixed.

Overall, it's typically seen as good, low-effort option for occasional discounts and beauty samples if you already shop there on a frequent basis, however members have outlined a demonstrable downside to the program.

When discussing its pros and cons, many customers flagged occasional issues with disappearing rewards and limited stock.

But one self-professed Myer devotee endorsed their loyalty program, citing "sooooo many gifts with purchase, like I want to say 3-4 per brand per year + all the actual sales."

Upon signing up to the program, members can earn two credits for every one dollar spent, accumulating in a $10 reward for every 1000 accumulated credits (arguably, not the best deal).

Brands included in Myer one promotions include: Estée Lauder, Clinique, Lancôme, Kiehl's, Shiseido and Elizabeth Arden.

Sephora Beauty Pass

As one of MECCA's leading competitors, Sephora's Beauty Pass program is surprisingly lesser-known in comparison to its wildly popular counterpart.

While members have reported sporadic stock issues for rewards and at-times hefty minimum spends for top discounts, it's reportedly worth it for Sephora loyalists who shop there frequently, and don't mind cooling their heels for specific deals.

According to Reddit users, if you're willing to commit to Beauty Pass, you'll benefit from sales (20 per cent off for Gold/Black tiers), exclusive gifts (when available), and high-value points rewards like full-size items or vouchers.

A few of the brands included in Beauty Pass are: Haus Labs, Rare Beauty, Kayali, Milk Makeup, Fenty Beauty, and their latest launch, Hourglass.

But overall, Sephora Beauty Pass's main drawing card and is its points-driven recycling scheme.

TerraCycle Recycling schemes

For those both eco-conscious and money-minded, many big-name brands have partnered with recycling scheme TerraCycle, offering a simple in-store method to recirculate your products' packaging – with the potential to accrue rewards points in the process.

You can typically expect to earn a reward for every five bottles brought in, making it very easy to rack up points when considering the slew of empty handwash, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant bottles you accrue throughout the duration of the year.

However, while stores such as David Jones, MECCA and Banish offer recycling services, it's only Sephora that allows you to collect redeemable points for doing so.

Individual brand loyalty programs

If you find you tend to gravitate towards select brands for your beauty needs, it may be worth looking into whether that brand offers its own individual loyalty program.

As it turns out, a wide selection of consumer favourites also boast their own points-based systems, if broader, multi-brand loyalty programs aren't your cup of tea.

A few notable brands include: Lancôme, Charlotte Tilbury, The Body Shop and MAC.
