Some of Hollywood's biggest movie and music stars attended the annual Baby2Baby Gala in California overnight.

The gala raises millions of dollars each year to help children living in poverty, with the funds being used to help struggling families buy nappies, clothes and food.

The night saw some more toned-back looks as the celebrities gathered for a good cause, but there were also some standout gowns in the crowd.

Jessica Alba went for a simple black gown with a corset bodice, constructed from a soft satin.

The gown featured a drop waist with a pleated fold over the hips, connecting to a flowy skirt.

The simple look was paired with a Cartier necklace worth $434,000 and two pairs of matching earrings, with one worth $58,000.

The second pair are worth $42,000, according to the Cartier Australia website.

The jewellery is worth $534,000 in total.

Alba paired the look with a simple black clutch.

She attended the gala after her recent trip to Australia, where she was spotted on the Gold Coast while filming her new film The Mark.

Singer Demi Lovato went for a bold red two-piece, standing out from the sea of black and grey dresses.

The outfit featured ruching all over the skirt and top, adding texture to the look.
