Dog 'cries' as owner walks down the aisle on wedding day

Everyone loves a wedding – it's a time of celebration with family, friends and, in this case, pets.

It's also a day where at least some people will shed a tear and become emotional, whether it's a guest or the bride and groom. At one recent wedding in the US, even the newlyweds' dog seemed overcome.

The dog, named Nick, 'cried' as he watched owner Sarah walk down the aisle to her husband-to-be, Dallas, during the ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.

In a video shared on TikTok by Red Rock Wedding Films, Nick can be heard whimpering with emotion.

The wedding videographer, Sawyer Jones, told Newsweek, "Nick is a big part of their life and they wanted to make sure he was included."

Failing to calm the pooch, the groom picks Nick up to reassure him.

In the caption of their TikTok post, @Redrockweddingfilms wrote, "Nick was super important to them and they wanted him included in their celebration. This moment from the ceremony was heartwarming and hilarious and we couldn't resist sharing it with you."

Jones told Newsweek Nick's emotional reaction wasn't "common" for dogs at weddings.

"In fact, this is the first one I've seen react like this," he said.

"The groom was a bit embarrassed that the dog was making a fuss, but obviously thought it was cute."

Jones said as Sarah approached Dallas, Nick "let out a few more howls to bring her the rest of the way" and make his involvement so much more special.

Dogs have played roles in weddings for couples who want every member of their lives involved, and this couple's decision to have Nick stand with the groom, best men and the celebrant isn't an uncommon one.

He certainly made Sarah and Dallas' day that extra bit special and, of course, one they'll never forget.
