For dog owners across the globe, there's nothing more prestigious than competing in — not even winning, just competing — the annual Crufts dog show.

Held in the United Kingdom by The Kennel Club, the three-day event is known as 'The World's Greatest Dog Show.'

This year, one little Chihuahua has single-handedly ensured the show will maintain its reputation, with a surprisingly graceful performance from Tchaikovsky and Rasquin's ballet Swan Lake. Watch above.

Joya the Chihuahua has taken social media by storm with her performance, done in tandem with her owner Karin Baumann at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

Not only are Joya's rolls, choreographed tumbles and flips praise-worthy, but the care the event organisers and set designers would have had to have taken by replacing the regular obstacle course markers with black and white inflatable swans is also worth noting.

Baumann, the pooch's tutu-donning human dance partner, also has some smooth moves, though it's undeniable little Joya completely stole the show with her prancing, and the internet agrees.

"Please tell me why I'm watching Crufts and have just cried at a chihuahua doing a ballet dance," another said.

"Oh my gawd. This little Chihuahua, Joya, is everything I needed today," another user commented.

One person gushed: "He's so little you can barely see him."

Joya unfortunately didn't win any medals though she gave it her all.  Twitter

Although Joya clearly has fans spanning continents, she unfortunately did not win any medals for her show-stopping performance.

Instead, best in show went to Baxter, a flat-coated retriever, who was presented with a green rosette.

Speaking at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre, his owner, Patrick Oware from Oslo in Norway, said through tears, "It's amazing. I'm really, really proud of him."
