Edie just learned she's going to be a big sister. Her reaction says it all

Sydney mum and 9Honey Style Editor Brooke Campbell Bayes couldn't be more thrilled to be welcoming her second child later this year.

However, her daughter Edie has... well, let's just say she has some complicated feelings about the prospect of becoming a big sister.

On Instagram last night, Brooke shared a video of the moment she broke the happy news to the three-year-old.

Edie's reaction delivered the kind of hilariously brutal honesty you can only expect from a toddler.

"So this news was never going to go down well with her."

To ease their firstborn into the idea of a new baby, Brooke and husband James Bayes have spent the last 12 months "planting the seed".

"We've been talking about how much fun it would be for her to be a big sister and be able to change the baby's nappy, help feed the baby, dress the baby," she says.

However, their efforts have been in vain.

"Every time we bring it up, her first response was always, 'No. Just Edie, Mummy, Daddy'," Brooke laughs.

"Hopefully she'll come around - we've got six months to work on her."
