Teacher's video explaining everything she does in a day goes viral
If anyone doubts just how hard our children's teachers work, this video will set you straight.
Sharing a raw and candid video on TikTok, US teacher Katie Peters, who goes by @kpintoledo, revealed everything she does in a day for her students, as well as teaching six periods of lessons.
"I helped a young man find safe housing," she begins. "I found a winter coat for a girl who didn't have one, I located a student's missing backpack and arranged for a replacement Chromebook for that student."

She continued: "I gave a student a little bit of cash for a haircut and made sure another student had enough food to last until the weekend. I listened to a lengthy story about a puppy, I sat with a young girl who was dealing with cramps, and helped support one of my male students dealing with his first heartbreak."
In the video, which has gone viral with over 2.7 million views, Peters also revealed that she spent her day walking a new student to her first class, saving an art project with super glue and writing a letter of recommendation for college for a student who told her about it that morning — the due date was the next day.

She reveals when she finally got home, she says she spent four hours planning "fun" new lessons which would also need to adapt to going virtual if her area was again plunged into online learning and working from home.
"I want you to know in your child's school, 30 to 50 teachers and support staff did that today," she revealed. "And we'll do it again tomorrow."
"It's what we signed up for, it's what we love, it's what makes us fulfilled. It's also why we're tired."
Peters revealed that her video was a response to a comment she'd read online from someone in her community.
"I read online in a community forum the other day, in regards to my district going back in person, 'Oh it's nice the teachers have decided to work again.'
"I felt something inside of me shatter," says Peters.

"I would encourage you to recognise, that even if you believe that teachers and staff are not working the hardest that they've ever worked in the last two years, that no [staff], in the history of ever, has been motivated by ugly."
She added: "Loving kids is the purest form of beauty that exists, and it's always going to beat your ugly."
TikTokers have immediately swarmed the comments with appreciation for Peters' message.
"From one teacher to another- thank you for your time and devotion," one user wrote.
"Teachers are angels 😇 I'm so lucky my daughter has been blessed with amazing educators, and people, like yourself!" a second shared.
A third added: "This is why teachers should be the highest-paid job in the world. Without teachers we have nothing. Thank you."
