Tammin Sursok shares frightening birth experience: 'Very close call'

Like many women who give birth to their first baby via caesarean-section, Tammin Sursok hoped to have a natural delivery second time around.

However the Australian actress, and 9Honey Parenting columnist, says she woke one morning when heavily pregnant and felt the need to follow her doctor's advice and book in for a c-section.

Her second daughter, Lennon, was born two days later - and Tammin was relieved she made the decision she did.

"When they pulled her out of my body the doctor said that we were hours away from a uterine rupture," Tammin says.

"If I had coughed too hard, if Phoenix had jumped on me, if I had accidentally slipped, if I had laughed too hard, if I put any pressure on my stomach within that hour or even the day before we both wouldn't have made it.

"I didn't really understand what they were saying (at the time). But afterwards I really came to terms with the fact that it was a very close call."
