Sylvia Jeffreys on lockdown with two kids under two: 'It's been hard'

Having two kids under two is no easy feat for any parents - throw a pandemic and being separated from your family into the mix, and it brings a whole new chaos.

This has been the case for Today Extra's Sylvia Jeffreys, isolated from her family during Sydney's lockdown with sons Oscar, 20 months, and Henry, six months.

With both Jeffreys and husband Peter Stefanovic hailing from Queensland, they have not been able to see their families since Henry was just six-weeks-old.

"It's been awful not having our family close by. I just want to share my babies with my family, that's been the hardest thing," Sylvia says. 

The busy mum of two is hopeful things are about to change.

"I know how much harder it is for so many people, especially people on the front line who are working so hard to keep us all safe and that's the most important thing," tells the journalist.

"But that's my little selfish gripe I suppose, that we're not connected with the rest of the family, I know it will come soon enough and I know we're separated for good reason but I guess it's just human to miss that connection."
