Serena Williams shows the pram struggle is real

International tennis champion and new mum Serena Williams shared her pram struggle on Twitter this week, and mums (and actually any other human being who's ever had to deal with a pram) were feeling it.

"I've conquered a lot of things... blood clots in my lungs- twice... knee and foot surgeries... winning grand slams being down match point... to name just a FEW," Williams wrote. "But I found out by far the hardest is figuring out a stroller."

The flood of responses can best be summed up in two words: God, yes.

Parents shared horror stories of folding, unfolding and downright dangerous prams – and began to sprinkle in some other warnings too.

"Dearest Serena," one follower wrote. "The stroller is the preliminary stuff. That Barbie DreamHouse will take you right out, stickers and all. Love, From your future."

Earlier this month, Williams decided not to go ahead with the Australian Open, still in recovery after daughter Alexis Olympia was born in September.

It's not the first time she has turned to social media for tips about motherhood, and hopefully it won't be the last.

It's not just the entertainment factor that makes Williams' posts resonate, or the ensuing streams of helpful tips: it's the sense she gives to other parents that they're not alone. That some things are hard for everyone, even the makers of international sporting history.
