Serena Williams’ new Gatorade advert features a body double as her little girl

New mum Serena Williams has plenty to celebrate right now: a precious baby girl, a new husband and a lucrative career.

The world number one tennis player has even teamed up with drinks brand Gatorade to star in a new advert featuring her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian...except the adorable baby featured in the advert isn’t actually the daughter of Serena and husband Alexis. 

The big budget advert appears to show Serena cradling her tiny daughter as she shares the lessons she’s learned in her incredible career. She can be heard saying that even if Alexis “never picks up a racquet,” she hopes that she “keeps playing no matter what” in the game of life.

However, E! reports that a body double was brought into the advert when Alexis became ill.

The advert also features pictures of famous women playing sports as children, including actress Allison Williams and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki.

Fans of Serena need not be disappointed not to get a glimpe of Alexis, though; the sportswoman and her husband have been sharing plenty of pictures of their new baby on their social media pages. She even has her own Instagram page, with 143k followers.
