'I've never seen myself as a stepdad': Sam Wood opens up about close bond with teen daughter Eve
Fitness trainer and 9Honey columnist Sam Wood is the proud dad of four beautiful girls, including 16-year-old Eve.
Evie was just nine when Sam met his now-wife Snezana, but he is quick to point out that not being related by blood has made no difference to the close relationship and bond he shares with the teenager.
"It's funny, I've never seen myself as a stepdad, I see myself as a dad," he declares in an exclusive interview with 9Honey. "And I hope that she sees me the same way."

"I've always said from day one, I'm going to treat you exactly like my own child, because that's how I see you. And I feel like that's what she wanted, that's what she needed and continues to need.
"I love her to bits and it was never going to be anything else. We're a family and that's it," he concludes, shunning the "labels" people often like to use.
The proud dad also opens up about how challenging it was having a teenage daughter during "the bubble" of COVID-19. And how helpful Evie has been since the birth of the couple's fourth child, Harper, earlier this year.

"She's been so much more helpful with Harper than she was with Willow and Charlie," he shares. "I think she's realised we need more help because we're drowning a bit this time around.
"And she's just a more mature, selfless person now than she was during those years, like so many teenage girls are."
