Sam and Snez Wood open up about their family's ADHD journey: 'Does make things a lot more difficult'

Life with three kids under five and a teenager is always going to bring with it a little chaos.

But for Sam and Snezana Wood, four little letters have brought some extra challenges into their parenting, as they revealed to 9Honey Parenting that both Snez and Eve, 17, have ADHD.

Opening up about how they navigate the neurological disorder — one of the most commonly diagnosed among children, Snez shared how this impacts their lives day to day.

There are three types of ADHD, impulsive/hyperactive, inattentive, or a combination of both. In women and girls it commonly presents more as inattentive, meaning they're more likely to be disorganised, forgetful, feel 'scattered' and become easily distracted, than hyperactive.

Something Snez says she can relate to.

"Eve having ADHD does make things a lot more difficult when it comes to parenting. All these simple things like looking people in the eye and punctuality are harder for them to do and to keep consistent. And organisation, which makes things very hard," Snez revealed.

Eve (who is the 28 By Sam Wood's step-daughter), is the eldest of their four daughters, with the pair also parents to Willow, five, Charlie, three and baby Harper, who was born in May.
