How to make your own natural play dough
I’m no Martha Stewart, but my mother taught me to make play dough as a child and I like to continue the tradition with my daughter.
It’s fun and so much easier than you imagine. If you know a few tiny tricks.
The first trick is – the recipe for play dough is on the back of the Cream of Tartare tin at the supermarket. Clear as day.
Secondly, it does miraculously just turn into pliable, play-worthy dough in minutes.
Here’s the recipe:
2 cups plain flour
4 tbs McKenzie’s Cream of Tartar
2 tbs cooking oil
1 cup salt
2 cups water
food colouring drops
Whisk all the ingredients together in a cool saucepan until smooth. Getting all the lumps out. Pop onto the stove top on low to medium heat and stir for three to five minutes with a spoon until the mixture congeals.
Add glitter if you like for extra sparkle. It's play time.
