As TODAY's weather presenter, Natalia Cooper is accustomed to knowing what the future has in store (at least where rain, wind and sunshine are concerned).

However, in her new role as 'future mum', things are not so predictable.

In June, Cooper and her husband Carl Fox learned one of their dreams had come true: they were expecting their first child.

"We'd always wanted to have kids, it was just working out the timing of it all," she tells Deb Knight in the new episode of 9Honey's Honey Mums podcast.

"I don't think there's ever the perfect time ... and as a woman you don't have forever, so we just gave it a go."

Now 25 weeks into her pregnancy—"so far, so good"—the TV reporter is getting acquainted with all the weird and wonderful side-effects of having a baby grow inside of you.

"The thing that's been really cool over the last couple of weeks is I've been able to really feel the movements," she explains.

"I can see my belly moving, and my husband's been able to touch my tummy and feel the movements as well, which is so nice. It really brings your partner into it."

Wriggling belly aside, Cooper admits she's been slightly blindsided by the fatigue associated with pregnancy.

"I'm such an action-packed person, my job involves lots of travelling," she tells Knight.

"You just realise not the same as you were before and you have to take your foot off the pedal a bit."

Fortunately, the TODAY team has been "so supportive and wonderful" when it comes to accommodating their resident mum-to-be's needs.

"Of late we're slowing it down a little bit—not as much travelling, not as much time away from home. We're easing off a little bit as we get closer," she explains.

Cooper's baby is due in February.
