Being told you are having twins during your first pregnancy ultrasound can be overwhelming - but for one mum-to-be that feeling soon turned to confusion after a follow-up test revealed the hilarious truth about her 'second baby'.

Jade Moore, from the UK, took to TikTok to explain the mix-up. She tells how she took her best friend along to the appointment for support when the sonographer dropped the big news, "Ooo congratulations! Two babies!"

Jade was in complete disbelief and asked the sonographer to check again. "You can clearly see what looks like two sacks and two babies," she says.

Jade was overwhelmed by the news and had to go the bathroom to compose herself. She eventually returned to the room to continue the scan - which is when the sonographer noticed something odd about one of the 'babies' on the screen.

"One of the babies that looked like it was in the sack was moving rapid. It was flapping!", she explains. Because of this the sonographer sent the mum directly to the hospital for a transvaginal scan to check the embryo. This is when things started to make a bit more sense.

The nurse conducting the exam at the hospital began laughing, Jade explains.

"She then calls in a colleague who starts laughing. She says 'Jade I just want to confirm that there's one baby'," she says. "The sonographer has been looking in your bowels." The sonographer had mistaken a poo for a second baby.

The story left Jade's followers in disbelief and tears of laughter, confused about how the sonographer could make the mistake.

"Never laughed so much in all my life," one person commented with a few laughing emojis. Another wrote, "It's very active lol. Had no idea that could happen!"

Jade says though while she was traumatised by the events at the time she can laugh about it now.
