Mum-to-be in tears over sweet surprise at 20-week ultrasound: 'My jaw dropped'
Pregnancy can be a rollercoaster of highs and lows, and there are undoubtedly moments that end up becoming cherished core memories.
For one mum-to-be, Rachel Connelly from the US, her 20-week ultrasound was one of those moments, with a sweet and unexpected surprise waiting for her in the scans.
In the ultrasound, Conelly's baby can be seen making the 'I love you' ASL sign with his hand, but the story behind why this is meaningful is what brought the pregnant woman to tears.

Conelly took to TikTok to share the experience, explaining her family had a tradition of signing 'I love you' to each other with the above hand gesture, two middle fingers down, index, pinky and thumb outstretched.
"Growing up my dad always did this," she explains, making the hand gesture, "our entire family does this, like when we're leaving instead of saying 'I love you' we just do this."

"So I had my 20-week anatomy scan today, and I don't want to make a big deal out of nothing, but it literally looked like he did this in the anatomy scan," she said, speaking of her unborn son.
"I don't know if it's just because I'm emotional, but it literally made me cry."
"He was either saying 'I love you' or 'rock on'," she captioned the clip.

People quickly took to the comments to confirm sighting of the gesture.
"100 per cent he did that. That is adorable. Please frame that!" one wrote.
"I'm a Perinatal Sonographer and he absolutely did that Mama!" another added.
A third chimed in, "That is one of the (American Sign Language) ASL signs for I love you. The shape literally spells out the letter ILY."
Others shared their disbelief and expressed their emotional responses to the ordeal.
