Mum who was bullied as a child scared to send son to school
A mum whose son is set to start school next year is having second thoughts about sending him, due to her experience as a child.
The woman, who shared a post on the Stay At Home Mum forum, said she didn't enjoy school due to bullying.
"Who enjoyed school," she asks. "My first is starting school in six months. He will be six in February."
She says she's considering homeschooling him, which was her "original plan."
"I just in my heart of hearts believe the education system just doesn't set kids up for success," she says.

"I have gone the system route because it's become clear he has dyspraxia (every male in my and hubby's family has it) and I wasn't sure if I was equipped to teach him. Now I'm thinking he will be better off with a tutor two hours a week and going at his own pace rather than trying to keep up when he likely will never be able to."
Dyspraxia is a developmental disorder of the brain in childhood causing difficulty in activities requiring coordination and movement.
The concerned mum says every male in her family dropped out of school and "all went onto success but still curse their school days. "I was heavily bullied and counted down till I left. When I left school I blossomed.
"I just am second guessing myself a lot this month."

The mum was overwhelmed with responses from other parents who struggled in school, many of whom made the decision to homeschool their own kids.
"I hated school because I was bullied, now I'm watching my daughter go through the same," said one mum. "I might end up home schooling her."

However some parents, who admitted to having struggled at school said they sent their children regardless, hoping their experience would be better.
"My kids really love school though so I guess there's no harm in trying and seeing how they go," suggested one mum.
"I loved school but burned out around year 11, which is when your marks start to count," said another mum. "I still did well, but not as well as I could have if I applied myself more. I hope when my kids go to school they enjoy it."
