Mum says it's time to stop making fun of 'incompetent dads'

Making fun of dads has always been a pretty easy way for mums to get their revenge on their sometimes-hapless husbands, but one woman has had enough.

Comedian Kristina Kuzmic says it's time to stop mocking dads because the jokes aren’t funny anymore.

Kuzmic, who lives in Los Angeles, has found fame through her "mom-centric" videos about raising children, which have received more than 600 million views.

She's often asked to create content poking fun at fathers, but has put her foot down.

"Though I realize that making dads look like incompetent, childish idiots is pretty popular on the internet (and the media in general) I will never do it," Kuzmic wrote on Facebook.

"No parent is perfect. That goes for both moms and dads."

She outlined three reasons for her bold stance.

"For the same reason I wouldn't mock moms. I'm rooting for all parents," Kuzmic's post read.

Secondly, she says, "feeling like a loser" never helped anyone succeed.

"I don't think mocking people will make them step-up and do a better job.

"It will only cause them to do even less."

But Kuzmic's third reason for not wanting to mock dads is perhaps the most crucial, and touching.

She doesn't want to set a bad example for her own children.

"I have sons who might someday decide to be dads, and I refuse to create any content that would make my boys think that men are less capable than women of being great parents or homemakers," the mum-of-three says.

"If men talked about moms the way women talk about dads, it would be considered completely unacceptable.

"So let's make it unacceptable to label an entire gender as inadequate."

Kuzmic's rise to fame has been rather spectacular, helped by television mogul Oprah Winfrey.

She starred in a reality TV show called, The Ambush Cook, which aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network with Oprah describing Kuzmic as "charming and charismatic and connected to the audience".
