What's a working mum to do when she can't get a babysitter?!

Proving the show really does go on, jazz musician Haruka Kikuchi has started taking her son Shouta on stage with her.

The slide trombonist has delighted fans with her musicianship, which doesn't falter a beat even when the nine-month-old is laying in mum's arms or strapped to her chest.

"He's just chill so it's super easy and natural to me," Kikuchi, who has been playing the slide trombone for almost 20 years, told Inside Edition.

The 32-year-old, who is based in New Orleans, told Good Morning America she couldn't afford to take a babysitter out on the road when Shake 'Em Up Jazz Band went on tour for two weeks in Europe last month - Kikuchi's first overseas tour since giving birth in November.

"If I bring him with me, I feel so much better because I can take care of him," Kikuchi told GMA. "He's fine and he feels safe with me."

The all-female band has six women but Kikuchi is the first of them to have a baby and says her bandmates all help her out.

"It's like he has five aunties," she said, adding: "Everybody helps me on and off the stage."

And the youngster is clearly stealing the show, with photos and videos of Shouta on stage in his protective headphones, popping up across social media.
