How one thrifty mum brought new life to her sentimental old clothes

When mum-of-two Carli Grant was pregnant with her second child, she started making clothes for her toddler as a way to save some money.

But as the cost of materials started to add up, the thrifty mum started looking around the house for unwanted items to make into clothes.

Although, it wasn’t until the 25-year-old saw one of her husband’s old shirts sitting on top of the giveaway pile that it sparked an idea in the mumtrepreneur, which has now taken off.

The red and black check shirt was what Carli’s husband Josh Grant wore when he first held their newborn daughter, Amelia, who is now two.

"[My husband's shirt] is ingrained in my head only because I told him to pack his hospital bag and he refused so he wore that shirt for two days," she told Good Morning America.
