Hugely popular mum blogger Constance Hall posted a picture of one of her three children sitting in her shopping trolley with the comment: "Me: 'Going to Woolies, got a lot to buy so no kids are coming.' Snow [her daughter]: 'Cool story.'"

The post was presumably intended to illustrate how hard it is for mums to get a moment alone without their kids tagging along, even when they're doing something as mundane as grocery shopping.

But her followers focused instead on the contents of her trolley, noting the two-minute noodles, Le Snak packaged foods and pikelets.

Matt Weaver posted: "A lot of garbage in that trolley, kid is very cute though."

It wasn't just the food that Constance's followers saw fit to mention, however. They even criticised the way her trolley is packed.

The bread's position at the bottom of the trolley gave a lot of people pause for thought: "Hahaha omg the bread, it's ruined and the way you pack the trolley hahaha... that's an IDGAF mum moment right there hahahaha..."

Many followers even commented on the fact that the trolley triggered their OCD and anxiety.

But plenty of people could sympathise with Constance's desire to have a moment alone, and soon her fans piled on to defend her.

Louise Demanuele said, "I knew people would start analysing the contents of the trolley. She's a mum feeding her family. Well done Mum."

And Stacey Thomas echoed what many of us were probably thinking: "What are people seeing that I can't that is so unhealthy? Is it the noodles? Because I can make out noodles, bread, healthy cereal (can't see Coco Pops?) and yoghurt? All pretty good to me. What am I missing?"

Constance herself weighed in on the debate, pointing out that she was "Getting mum-judged on your anti-mum-judging page. Then everyone attacks the judgey mum even though you're an advocate for women sticking together.

"And if I was to drink the stiff bottle of Scotch that this thread made me want to drink I'd be judged for that!

"The bananas and celery and carrots and potatoes and onions and garlic and mandarins and apples aren't visible in this picture - wasn't thinking about trolley angles.

I also buy a lot of fruit from the markets and [her partner] Denim's mum is bringing us fresh fruit from her trees today. Should I post the receipt?"

No need, Constance - most of the internet is on your side.

Let's leave the last word to Samantha Starr, who commented: "All I saw was the 'no kids coming' statement and the child in the trolley and thought: 'You can get everything at Woolies these days.'"
