Miranda Kerr reveals touching way she's honouring her late grandparents' legacy with her four sons
Three years ago, Miranda Kerr was put in a position every person finds themselves grappling with at some stage of their lives but no one is ever truly prepared for.
The Sydney-born, Gunnedah-raised model-turned-mogul's "rock", her grandfather, had . And then, less than two weeks after he was laid to rest, Kerr's while in the throes of mourning.
In a cruel twist of fate, the "heart of [Kerr's] family" – her grandmother – had died within weeks of her husband.

In February 2024, in between the three-year anniversary of both of her grandparents' deaths, the 40-year-old KORA Organics founder welcomed her fourth son – her third child with 33-year-old French-American husband Evan Spiegel.
His name, as she revealed to her 14.5 million Instagram followers, is Pierre Kerr Spiegel – and his first name was chosen for a very special reason.
"After my grandfather, Peter," Kerr tells 9honey Parenting. "And he was actually conceived in France. So that's hence the name, Pierre. It's Peter, but in French."
Pierre's name isn't the only way Kerr has honoured her grandparents' legacy, with the newly-minted Michael Hill brand ambassador revealing her grandmother's words of wisdom have shaped her new parenting routine.

"I'm much more routined," Kerr, who was six weeks post-partum when we spoke, says of her parenting style now there's four children in the house, not three.
Kerr shares seven-week-old Pierre, four-year-old Miles, and five-year-old Hart with Spiegel, whom she married in 2017. She also shares 13-year-old Flynn with ex-husband Orlando Bloom.
"I breastfeed every three hours for now at this stage that I am... Whereas with Flynn, my first child, I would breastfeed on demand," she says.
"I have much more of a structure around [Pierre's] nap times and his breastfeeding times... and my grandma was all about that."

Kerr recalls her grandmother, Ann, advised her, "You really need to make sure with your children that you have a good routine."
"And guess what? She was a mother of four children, too. And I realise now how important that routine is," Kerr reflects.
"And not only does it make the child feel safe, and they have that kind of structure... but in addition to that, I then can plan things with my other children in those gaps of time, when the other little guys are sleeping..."

How Miranda Kerr protects her children's privacy when all four parents are in the spotlight
In addition to structure, a big parenting priority for Kerr is protecting her children's privacy as much as she can.
It's a particularly poignant topic for Kerr, with Flynn having just turned 13 (and gotten braces) in January. When Kerr was that same age, she'd just won the Dolly model search, sparking a 27-year-long (and counting) turn in the spotlight.
"Flynn's at the age where he knows that his dad is an actor and he knows Katy's [Perry, Bloom's fiancée] a singer and I modelled but with them, we're just very quiet and private," Kerr says.
"It's important for us as a family to protect their privacy, which is why you'll never see any pictures of them displayed on our social media."

What Kerr is happy to share is largely focused on her public life, including her close friendship with Perry.
"We celebrate so many wonderful milestones with the kids together and we are really close friends," she says of the Firework singer.
"I feel really blessed to have such a close relationship and such a good friendship with Orlando and Katy."
