Matty J opens up about coping with miscarriage as a dad

Matty J is a father to two adorable girls, Marlie-Mae, 2, and Lola, 11 months, with fiancée Laura Byrne.

However, it was not all smooth sailing for the couple to conceive, with Laura previously revealing she suffered two miscarriages in her Life Uncut podcast.

Now, the dad-of-two and TV presenter is opening up to 9Honey Parenting about the 'awful' experience.

"While you're ecstatic that you've got this little gift," Matty reveals. "It's hard not to get excited. All of a sudden the rug is pulled beneath you. It's just it's gone. It's taken away.

"And it's really hard to come to terms with."

Matty also speaks out about how the couple both came to terms with the loss.

"More than anything I think talking about it really openly is helpful," he explained. "So many people go through it.. it helps knowing you're not alone."

Matty also reveals the couple's plans to expand their family.

"We are planning on trying for a third at some point," he said. "So know we may experience it again."
