Each year, Australia's states and territories release the names of every child born the previous year before McCrindle Research uses the data to find the top baby names and trends.

McCrindle examined the names that had fallen out of favour with Aussie parents by looking at those that left the top 100 list.

It also looked at the names that had recorded the biggest drops in the past year, and those names that were steadily decreasing in popularity.

The boys' names that exited the top 100 in 2023 are Ashton, Connor, Vincent, Elias and Jaxon. The girls' names to leave the top 100 are Charlie, Jasmine, Claire Gracie and Lilly.
