When Kourtney Kardashian’s ex Scott Disick shared a sweet picture of his son, he almost certainly didn’t expect the torrent of shaming that followed.

The father-of-three uploaded a snap of himself and eight-year-old Mason on holiday to his Instagram account, captioning it “My life”.

The picture quickly drew in comments, but not because of the sweet father-son moment, or the fact that the young boy looks just like Disick and Kardashian - rather, because of his eyebrows.

Shockingly, fans were posting derogatory comments about the young boy. One wrote, “How you gonna let a kid walk around w that unibrow.”

Another added, “I'm sure he can afford a tweezer.”

Some even involved the boy’s mother, with one follower writing “I really need Kourtney to do something about Mason’s hair and eyebrows.”

As the comments began to rack up, some fans jumped to the defence of the young boy.

“They are making fun of a beautiful child,” one wrote. “So what if he has extra hair on his brow?? How does that affect YOU?”

Another chimed in, “Wtf is wrong with people? The kid is 8! Who waxes or messes with an 8 year old eyebrows? He’s FINE!”

Neither Disick or Kardashian responded to the shocking comments, preferring to take a dignified silence and let their sweet photos do the talking instead. Sadly, the messages are representative of a culture in which people feel comfortable saying deeply hurtful things from behind the safety of a screen.

We can only hope that Mason has the ability to let the comments slide off his back.
