When it comes to mummy shaming, Kim Kardashian has been called out plenty of times for her – at times - controversial parenting choices.

Just last month the mum-of-three was slammed for letting 5-year-old daughter North wear makeup in a cute picture uploaded on Instagram for Thanksgiving.

While we all know the reality star doesn't give in to the trolls, she actually does have rules about what kind of makeup her eldest child can and can’t wear.

Speaking with Refinery29 the 38-year-old explained: "I already know North is into makeup for sure."

"She had friends over this weekend and some of her girlfriends came and they were just all in her room, giving themselves makeovers. I was like, OK, she’s really, really into makeup," Kim added.

She admitted that when companies send her makeup and she's got a lot, she'll pass it onto North who clearly appreciates it.

But it comes with a catch.

In the Kardashian West household the makeup guidelines for North are pretty simple.

"I don't think she should wear lashes or too dark of a lipstick," Kim explained.

The mum-of-three, who has her own successful beauty line, also admitted she knows that makeup is a form of expression and she wants North to be able to experiment and express herself.

"But I want her to be appropriate, too," she added.

With a strong passion for makeup already, it looks like North might be well on her way to following in her mum’s footsteps.
