Mum finds her kids' 'secret plan' to convince her to buy them a puppy

When mum and author Emma Robinson stumbled on her kids’ “secret” plan to convince her to buy them a puppy, she was equal parts amused and impressed.
 
Robinson, who wrote the book The Undercover Mother, found the 10-step scheme scrawled on a piece of paper that was sitting on the family’s kitchen table.

Written by eight-year-old William, with some input from his sister Scarlett, six, the list includes some frankly ingenious ideas to bring Mum around to the idea of a dog.

The plan, titled "Get a Puppy", starts off sweetly enough, with “Do all chores” and “Give compliments” being the first two steps.

Then, things become increasingly sneaky, including strategies like “Put cute pictures around the house”, “Drop in random facts”, and even “Trade in a sibling”.

Scribbled beneath point 10 is a far more practical suggestion from little Scarlett: “Ask please can we have a dog”.

Speaking to The Mirror, Robinson said she initially thought the list was her son’s birthday wish list before she realised what she was reading and burst out laughing.
