Dad shocked by delivery for four-year-old son: 'Lovely gesture'

It can be annoying when what you order online is not what turns up at your door, or sometimes it has the potential to be deadly - like when a fully functioning chainsaw arrives for a four-year-old boy.

One family was faced with that worrying situation when they ordered their son a toy chainsaw, but the retailer delivered a real one instead.

Dad Jon Ironmonger posted photos of the package on his Twitter page with the caption: "Lovely gesture by Amazon to send my four-year-old an ACTUAL CHAINSAW instead of the toy he'd asked for".

The dad put in an order for a Stihl Children's Battery Operated Toy Chainsaw, though what arrived at the door was a a very real and very sharp Stihl HSA 26 Shrub Cutter.

Not surprisingly, fellow Twitter users found the blunder quite amusing.

"You'd surely think someone would also felt the difference in weight", one person replied to the post. "I hope he has a steady hand," said another.

Some suggested the dad just keep the real deal as it would be more expensive - and the boy would eventually "grow into it".
