Drew Barrymore shares a genius parenting tip for diffusing toddler tantrums

Drew Barrymore is being applauded by fellow mums after sharing a frankly genius parenting tip on Instagram.

The Hollywood veteran, 43, has two daughters - Olive, five, and Frankie, four - and she regularly shares insights into her life as a parent on social media. 

Last week, the Santa Clarita Diet star offered up a simple, handy trick for parents who find themselves on the receiving end of a dreaded toddler tantrum.

"Summer toddler tip: keep bubbles on hand," the post, initially shared by the Seedlings Group, began.

"You cannot tantrum if you are breathing and you cannot blow bubbles without breathing. You can’t tantrum while smiling and you can’t catch bubbles without lots of smiles. Quick distraction to get back to calm."

Reposting from the @seedlingsgroup Instagram account, Barrymore praised the parenting support company.

"This is a great tip... these are things I really needed as a parent, and I still marvel at them," the mum admitted to her 8.9 million followers.
