Drew Barrymore shares the secret to co-parenting success

Co-parenting isn't easy on anyone, including celebrity parents. Actress Drew Barrymore has recently shared how she and her ex make the family dynamic work for them and their daughters.

In a rapid fire questionnaire with Parents Magazine, the actress revealed her true feelings on co-parenting with her ex husband.

She names one upside to co-parenting as "both parents get a day off," but admits the hardest part is "miss(ing) them when you're apart because that wasn't the plan."

Barrymore shares daughters Olive, 9, and Frankie, 7, with her ex-husband, Will Kopelman.

She also shared her thoughts on "raising strong women", remarking that she "never felt it wasn't okay to be one."

But she also admits that, as "we live in a modern world... it's a challenge to make sure we don't overexpose our kids while allowing them autonomy."

Barrymore has previously opened up about her struggles with dating as a single mum. She has broken down in tears on her daytime tv show, The Drew Barrymore Show, admitting, "I don't know how to date with kids".

"I'm not there yet," she confessed to guest star, Bobby Berk from Queer Eye.

"I have two young girls and, like, I don't want to bring people home...I think it would take me a very long time," she said.

"Don't put that pressure on yourself if you don't know how to do it," Berk advised her, "You're being careful about it, which makes you a good mum."
