Mum shares photos of dad and daughter's sweet monthly tradition

When something makes your day, sometimes you have to shout it from the rooftops. Mum-of-two Caitlin Fladager took to Twitter to shout out her husband for a very cute ritual he's started with their daughter.

"Every month this year, my husband has taken our daughter out on 'dates'," she wrote in the post.

"He brings her home flowers, helps her pick out a dress, and takes her out to split a dessert with him.
"It’s become a tradition."

Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old mum's tweet quickly went viral.
Since she posted the story along with a few photos in late November, she's received around 27,000 retweets and more than 108,000 likes.

The idea of "dad dates" isn't uncontroversial. Some parents point out that while quality time is lovely – and indeed, crucial – using adult language and ideas of dating for kids is unnessecary.
But many Twitter users jumped in to share how much these kind of outings meant to them.
"It's one of my best memories growing up," one woman wrote.
"I would go to my nana's house and she would get me ready and he'd pick me up all dressed up at the front door with flowers."

Another said she still does this with her dad – and agreed with many others that it sets the dating bar high.
"Makes u never wanna settle for nothing but the best," she wrote.
