New dad takes doctors by surprise in dramatic delivery room moment

When your partner is giving birth you have one job - support them as they undertake the very impressive task of bringing new life into the world. However one dad-to-be has gone viral for doing pretty much the opposite - passing out in the delivery room as his baby was born.

In a video posted to TikTok, the man's partner has just given birth and is holding their newborn baby. Her partner, who appears exhausted and a bit sick, looks over at her and begins to fall. Luckily, a nearby nurse catches him before he hits anything, but not before the surrounding doctors send amused and slightly judgmental glances his way.

New mother Peyton Stewart shared the video on Tiktok a few days ago, and it has already garnered more than 12 million views.

Stewart captioned the video "That time my boyfriend passed out after I gave birth," adding a laughing emoji at the end. 

In a follow up video, she said they captured the moment when her mother was attempting to screen record the birth via Facetime.

Viewers found the video hilarious, particularly the doctors' reactions.

"The OB staring at him like man c'mon," wrote one.

Another commented, "if you notice the mum's attention never left the baby, that was the day [the dad] found out he came number two."

Others shared similar experiences they had during their births.

"My husband's face smacked the floor so hard during mine, the slap was so loud, my quick-witted doc said, 'he's gonna need a CT.'"

One commenter wrote, "My husband said he was dizzy during my c-section and with no hesitation my doctor said, 'get him out of my operating room now!'"

Some wanted to give the husband some recognition for effort.

"Honestly he tried so hard to fight it. He deserves some credit."
