Bedtime can be a battle zone, but Alyssa Warren’s quirky hacks can save you time and energy in unexpected ways.

“I need shortcuts,” she said, “If bedtime can be any quicker and less painful, I will do whatever I need to.”

She spoke to Deborah Knight in this week’s Honey Mums Podcast and shared how she wrangles the morning routine the night before.

“Put your kids to bed in tomorrow’s clothes.”

Wait... what?

Alissa explained that by putting the kids to bed in tomorrow’s outfit you can completely avoid the hassle of trying to get them into it the next morning.

“You just pop it on instead of their pyjamas and it saves you about 10 minutes in the morning,” she told Deb.

Her other hack was even more left of field – she makes her kids’ beds twice!

“Make their bed as usual… then make it again. Put another waterproof mattress over the top and then put the sheets on top,” Alissa explained.

“If they do a vomit, or a wee, or whatever… you just strip the bed and it is already made.

"And life with a few extra minutes of sleep for any mum is very welcome.”
