Clever dad's hack to stop daughter climbing stairs when baby gate didn't work

When your baby starts to crawl, the days of being able to leave them to play on a mat without worrying where they will end up are over and babyproofing becomes a priority.

One dad, who thought he had babyproofing covered, was faced with a dilemma when the baby gate stopped working. The quick-thinking father came up with genius hack to block his daughter - and it's a great option for parents who need a temporary fix.

He simply grabbed the fold-out card table he had lying around the house to cover the first few stairs making it too slippery for the little girl to climb up. Sharing the DIY job on Tiktok, dad Jeremy's invention has been hailed 'brilliant!'

Jeremy and his wife Ciara are parents to two kids under two, so they are very experienced in the art of avoiding toddler disasters in the house.

He showed off the hack in a video that's now been viewed over five million times by parents who are impressed with his practical thinking.

"Brilliant! Patent this quickly!," declared one parent.

"Two birds! She also gets a workout from it. She'll fall asleep fast!" one person commented on the post. Another said, "Work smarter not harder. I love it!!"

"Congratulations. You built her a Ninja Warrior course!," laughed another. "You could make millions!"

"Thank you everybody for the advice and support," dad Jeremy responded. "This is just a card table for now, but I am looking into actually getting a product developed!"

Despite the table being in the way, the curious little girl still attempts to climb up though fails to do so proving the hack really works.
