When you're a parent of young kids, Christmas morning is always going to be a little bit chaotic.

But one mum woke up to absolute carnage, and just had to hit record as she walked into the living room and found her kids had got up long before her.

Sharing the footage from a previous Christmas on TikTok, Sarah, a mum-of-four, admitted she didn't even know what to do when she walked in.

"How long have you been up?" she asked.

Her eldest two kids had opened up pretty much every single present, wrapping paper strewn across the room and new toys everywhere.

Clearly oblivious to what they'd done, one of the kids proudly told her, "Look Mummy. Look, Santa's been!"

You can hear the faint sounds of disappointment creeping in with the shock as she keeps repeating "oh my God" and looking around the room.

Her son Preston was clearly thrilled with his new Hot Wheels, but Sarah then spotted that her youngest's presents had also been ripped open in the excitement.

"Flaming heck!" she said.

As the kids tried to show her their new things, her breathing got heavier and the sadness started to come out.

"Did you not think you could wake Mummy up?" she asked.

Like any mum, she'd likely spent weeks and probably even months shopping and wrapping everything they want, but missed the best part – their faces lighting up.

"Mummy didn't get to see you open these things babe," she sighed.

"When Mitzie & Preston came down before me & their brother Alfie! 🤯 They even opened some of Alfies gifts! 🎁 I honestly didn't know what to do 🤣 I'm sure this will be remembered… Reposting as Christmas is almost here!!" she captioned the post.

"This is so innocently devastating," commented one TikToker.

Another replied, "I'm not built to be a mother I would have stormed out and cried all day."

Some people questioned how on earth she could sleep in so long to let this happen, but the reality was this was very early.

"I didn't go to bed until like 2am .. I was a single mum on my own so I was up preparing everything Xmas eve. This was at like..5am Xmas day, believe me I didn't get to sleep for long," she replied to one comment.

Others praised her for how she handled it.

"All I can think is how calm u r. My mother would have killed me for doing that," commented one person.

We're sure it's the kind of thing these kids won't be doing again this Christmas.
