Charlize Theron admits even she uses one of the oldest parenting tricks on her daughters
When it comes to parenting, even Charlize Theron uses one of the oldest tricks in the book on her kids.
The actress, who is mum to 11-year-old Jackson and seven-year-old August, admitted she's got a couple of different tactics when it comes to her parenting style.
"I mean, I think I just live it," Theron told ET at the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP)'s 4th Annual Block Party about how she has taught her daughters to help others.

"I think the thing that I've learned as a parent, is like, as soon as you tell them to do something, they don't do it so. Reverse psychology is what I believe in."
Theron, who launched CTAOP in 2007, said she tries to lead by example, which she does with the organisation.
The 48-year-old welcomed both her daughters through adoption in 2012 and 2015 and hopes they will take after her passion for philanthropy after seeing firsthand the work she has done.
"This is something that I fell in love with before my children came into my life. It's part of me now. It's been 17 years," she said.

"They have really seen me be a part of this and work towards making this as successful as possible. And so, hopefully, [they learn] through that."
Theron has largely shielded her two daughters from the spotlight since she adopted them as a single mother and rarely talks about them to the media.
In September 2023 the Monster star treated Jackson to a day out at the Dior fashion show in Paris, sitting front row.
Photos taken inside the event show the pair seated together in the front row, where Theron appeared to point out to her daughter some of her favourite looks from the runway.
While her girls may be growing up and starting to live their own lives, they're still a close knit family and all enjoyed a special night together at Taylor Swift's concert last year.

It wasn't just a family day out either, it was a special celebration.
Alongside a clip of the trio dancing together to the singers hit Shake It Off, Theron wrote, "Thank you for the best birthday ever @taylorswift!!! We had such a great f---ing time."
