Brooklyn Beckham has reportedly dropped out of university in New York to return home to the UK, with claims he was suffering homesickness.

The eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham started his four-year photography course at the Parsons School of Design in September 2017, but has now put it on hold.

The Mirror reports Brooklyn, 19, has quit the course after scoring an internship with a well-known British photographer whose name is yet to be revealed.

"It sounds as if he was truly homesick and was feeling lonely out there," a source told the Mirror.

“He adores his family, in the end it was the lure to come back to them all that swung it – and the prospect of a terrific internship.”

The source adds that his fashion designer mum was thrilled about her firstborn son returning home.

“Victoria is absolutely delighted … to have Brooklyn back under the same roof is a dream come true for her,” they said.

However a report in The Sun disputes the homesickness claim, suggesting the internship was just too good to pass up.

David and Victoria Beckham have four children -- Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13, and Harper, seven.
