Blake Lively shares candid bathroom selfie as she misses 2023 Met Gala

Blake Lively is giving fans an insight into how she is spending her first Monday in May – and it isn't at the Met Gala.

After confirming she wouldn't be attending the biggest celebrity event of the year in an interview last week, the actress shared a photo on her Instagram story showing her pumping breast milk in a bathroom.

The mum of four even added a cheeky animated sticker of milk pouring out from her chest.

"First Monday in May," Lively wrote in a caption on the hilarious shot, referring to the annual date of the New York gala.

The 35-year-old actress told reporters she would not be attending the awards at the grand re-opening of the Tiffany & Co. Fifth Avenue in New York City last Thursday.

"You will not," Lively said. "But I will be watching."

Lively has regularly attended the Met Gala since 2008, often alongside her husband Ryan Reynolds – with all eyes (and cameras) on her.

Last year, the red carpet queen stunned once again, transforming into a real-life Lady Liberty.

The couple welcomed their fourth child four months ago, although are yet to reveal details.

"We're very excited. Look, we wouldn't do this four times if we didn't love it," Lively said.

They also share daughters Betty, three, Inez, six, and James, eight.
