Midwife's top tips to help mums have a speedy recovery after birth

"You wouldn't just strap on your shoes and run 42kms without doing any training," declares midwife Edwina Sharrock. "Get prepared and have your support person get prepared."

"Understand what pregnancy, labour and birth are going to look, feel and sound like. Know what all your options are."

"Staying strong and fit and healthy in pregnancy will mean you are more likely to have an enjoyable labour and faster recovery."
