'This $20 tote is the ultimate summer mum bag'

The "ultimate" beach bag for parents of young children has just been spotted on the shelves at Kmart.

Yes, we hear you – why on earth are we talking about a summer accessory while it's still glacial outside?

But the warmer months are hot on our tails (finally) and given the response this accessory may sell out quick.

"As soon as I saw these pop up, I immediately thought about running to Kmart to get one," Aussie mum Amy tells 9honey.

The beach bag in question is the new $20 Beach Tote, which the store claims is "durable and long-lasting" and "easy to clean".

The tote bag comes in four different colours, Blush, Stone, Sage and Navy, and have already been marked as "bestsellers" on the Kmart website.

The tote also features a "non-slip bottom and waterproof design" making it perfect for parents wrangling beach days or trips to the pool with their little ones.

It's also 55 centimetres wide and 36 centimetres tall making it one of the larger tote bags you can buy which is perfect for throwing in all the summer essentials.

"It looks like the perfect bag to throw in wet swimmers, beach toys and there's no worry about getting sand everywhere because you can just wipe – or lets be real here hose – it out," Amy says.

Not only is it practical but it's also easy on the eyes. The pastel colour options are very much on trend at the moment and the rope handles give the bag an elevated touch.

"The ultimate summer mum bag if you ask me!" Amy says, and she's not the only one who feels that way.

Digital creator Addicted to Bargains shared a video of the new totes to Instagram with many in the comment section sharing their excitement.

"Ooh yes, need one of these!!" one commented.

"These are perfect for upcoming summer," commented another.

A quick scan of Kmart's website shows these totes are already out of stock at a number of stores across the country.
