'Cracked the code': Mum's free babysitting hack guarantees a night off from parenting
We can all admit trying to find the time and sorting the logistics of a date night can sometimes be too hard and feels like it's not even worth the hassle.
But one mum and her friend have seemingly cracked the code for locking in a date night, sorting babysitting and getting a bit of solo time too – and it's a genius idea.
Abigael explained her win-win situation in an Instagram video and, honestly, it's a wonder more people aren't doing it.

"Don't know how we didn't think of this sooner," she captioned the video.
"Fully convinced that my friend and I have cracked the code on either going on a date night with our spouse or having a night off as a mum."
She explained that while she could just take her kid to her friend's house and let them babysit, when it comes to bedtime and then waking them up to go home later, it gets hard.
It's the same thing if her friend brings their baby to her house – someone's sleep schedule is going to get messed up and it makes the whole thing a bit harder.
But then they had an idea.

"Instead of disrupting my friend's daughter's sleep schedule, her husband stayed at home with their baby. My friend came over to my house after I had put my toddler to bed. [She] was simply just there, not even really to babysit, truly just to sit and be there if there was an emergency... and that is now the routine," she explained.
She filmed the video from her friend's house, literally demonstrating how it works, as they enjoyed a date night.
Abigael had arrived at their place once the baby was asleep and her husband stayed home to put theirs to bed.
"He's getting a night to himself to play video games... they're on a date... I am chilling on their couch, I'm going to watch their Netflix, I get a night off from doing my kid's bedtime routine and watch whatever trash reality TV that I want. It's a win for everybody," she finished.

A lot of mums couldn't believe how smart this hack is and thanked her for sharing it in the comments.
"I don't care what anyone says, this is brilliant," replied one woman.
Another added, "Truly everyone wins."
"We do this too! A couple years now and it's GAME CHANGER. Plus a bonus of not paying babysitting money," commented another mum.
One woman commented, "Oh my god this is amazing!!! You are their village!!!"
